About Luke Frederick

I grew up in Eagle Lake and have had a strong belief in SERVICE my whole life. It started when I joined Boy Scouts at a young age and then was further developed when I joined Civil Air Patrol. After I graduated high school, I joined AmeriCorp National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) for a 1-year term of volunteer service. NCCC took me from building a summer camp for underprivileged kids in Vermont, to building Habitat homes in Alabama, to disaster relief in Florida.

Woker Rights

I returned home and enrolled at MNSU – Mankato and started working at the State Hospital in St. Peter, MN in 2005. With my employment at the State Hospital, I became and have continued to be a union member. This includes holding elected office within AFSCME Local 404 for over 5 years. During that time, I focused on standing up for worker rights and workplace safety. I had the INTEGRITY to do so even when it was hard.

Why I'm Running

I’m running because south-central Minnesota deserves a leader who will work across the political aisle when possible yet still hold firm to the values of the people they represent. In today’s politics there is such polarization and we can see one party be defined by being opposed to what the other party wants. You have my COMMITMENT to look past the polarization to find what is best and what we can actually accomplish. This includes listening to the community when they speak up about their needs and then taking action to support them. I hope I can count on your support. We are in this together #OneMinnesota
